Dear Reader,

Hello Kitty Yasmin was the first doll of the Hello Kitty x Bratz collaboration that I ordered. Can you blame me? A blue-eyed Yasmin is so 👀👀... I had to see what she was all about, right? She is such a unique Yasmin!! She is so DARLING is the word!

When I first saw her, I didn't quite know what I was looking at. It almost felt like she was an entirely new kind of Bratz doll. You gotta understand dear reader, that up until then we had been consistently getting brown eyed, light pink/purple lipped Yasmins. So seeing her with striking blue eyes completely caught me off guard. My first thought was, Who is she? and Is she really a Bratz Doll? Yes, dear reader, she is real and she is a MUST COLLECT.

What I Love About Hello Kitty Yasmin:

  • Her Eye Color: A deep blue that is almost purple, so unusual in general!

  • Her Eye Detail: You gotta love that anime-inspired Tokyo A Go-Go-esque eye screening! It gives her that unique look that gave me the double take

  • Her Bangs: I've been so tired of the blunt bang, and Hello Kitty Yasmin sports a piece-y see-through bang that is a refreshing change

  • Her Hair: She has so much hair, and it's very curly. I let it down out of the pigtails, and I think she looks better that way!

  • Her Shoes: Omg I use these shoes on so many of my Yasmins. The white complements Yasmin's golden brown skin tone beautifully. They also have cute tiny Hello Kitty faces on the front of them, which is such an adorable detail that you might miss!

  • Her Purse: I'm genuinely impressed with the purse quality in this collaboration. I love the Hello Kitty head shaped purse, as its cute and surprisingly well made (maybe I'm just traumatized by Stylin' Birthday 👀).

What I Don't Love About Hello Kitty Yasmin:

  • No Earrings or Earring Holes: Unlike Hello Kitty Cloe, Yasmin doesn't have pierced ears or earrings. Just... why??

  • Her Headphones: Okay the bow was cute on the headphones, but I immediately took them off to really get a good look at this doll! Interestingly, she does look good in Hello Kitty Cloe's headband. I think the headphone are just so bulky, and the headband is a lot softer for her head and face. She has the perfect bangs to pull off a little headband like this, and maybe a Hello Kitty bow might've been cute. Either way the headband definitely breaks up her hair

  • Her Outfit: This is good and bad because although I may be of the Y2K era, I'm not sure if I'm completely a fan of the skirt over the jeans look. The only good part about this is that it gives us 2 different bottoms we can mix and match! However, this apron skirt is not a full skirt and I've layered it over a white skirt, pictured below:

Overall, Hello Kitty Yasmin is worth colleting. She feels fresh while still looking unmistakably like Yasmin, even with her unexpected blue, anime-inspired eye screening. Not only is her eye color unique in this line, but her hairstyle with the wispy bangs is seldom seen in modern Bratz releases and turned out beautifully. Although I wish she had earrings and I wasn't quite a fan of her outfit, these are small complaints compared to everything she gets right. She's totally a doll you do not want to miss!
