VERDICT: WORTH IT

Dear Reader,
What'z In My Closet Dana is such a mixed bag! NO, SHE IS NOT A JADE. It seems a lot of people confuse her with Stylin' Birthdayz Jade because they both have purple eyes! When she was first revealed, it seemed like so many fans were disappointed! We've been asking for playsets and fashion packs for years it feels like, and this seemed to be MGA's solution. People complained about the price ($79.99 USD), people complained about her hair, people complained about the fashion choices. Well people are always complaining!!! I knew the only way to truly know this doll was to get her myself. And let me just tell you, dear reader yes, she has risen to my top 10 so fast.

Okay but Dana's mug is totally mogging. I think people hate to admit it because they don't want to miss out on her, since she is more expensive than your average doll. But in all honesty, her beauty was literally making me feel ill during her glamour shoot. And no, I don't like her hair. Although even if I got into rerooting, I'm not sure if I would change her. The entire look has sincerely grown on me.
I think it's fair to say WIMC Dana's hair is what collectors complain about the most. The color is an interesting choice, jet black with a harsh yellow-blonde peekaboo. It truly was a wild choice, especially because she came out around the time "black hair blindness" was trending on social media. It seems like Dana has her own black hair blindness going on. She reminds me of the days where we would use hair dye and bleach in all the wrong ways. She seriously needs a good toner.
People were also quick to criticize WIMC Dana's hairstyle as well. Many commented on its wig-like appearance. Wigs are not inherently a bad thing, but I believe that because this playset cost $79.99, people were quicker to complain about any choice they didn't slightly agree with. I have to admit, I too was turned off by her hair. I'm also not used to Dana having black hair. The color and style are totally giving Jade (just another reason why people mix them up!). In the long run though, I could not get past her beautiful screening. I just appreciate her faceup colors so much that I was willing to settle for a hairstyle I didn't immediately love.

What didn't help was that the hair was soooo hard from the gel, that some of it actually broke off (!) while I was trying to unbox her. It was a little bit traumatic, but we recovered. There wasn't too much breakage, thank God! And WIMC Dana has layers in her hair, so you don't even notice now that the gel is washed out. If you wind up getting her, be careful with her hair!!

Now because this is a playset, I'm going to include my take on the accessories as well. So I've included a stock image of everything that comes with What'z In My Closet Dana.
You get 3 outfits: the rose dress, the pajamas, and the skirt/shirt/jacket outfit. You also get 4 shoes: pink heels, black boot heels, silver pumps, and pink slippers to compliment her pjs. As for accessories, you get: 3 pairs of glasses and 2 purses.
I have absolutely no complaints about the outfits or shoes. I also mostly like the glasses (although I think the black ones are a little goofy). But the real winners here to me are the purses. This is of course coming from someone who just opened Stylin' Birthdayz Sasha 👀iykyk. Both of Dana's purses are functional (meaning they open!), which a lot of collectors appreciate. They aren't a hunk of plastic mold but instead have cute little details like their straps and zippers. They're also both big enough to hold Dana's phone. The silver lip purse looks reminiscent of Kylie x Bratz: Kylie Day's purse, I wonder if they're the same mold? Does anybody know?

Now ofc, I would expect quality for the price tag. I knew this purchase was on the expensive end, but at the same time I can't fool myself into thinking prices would match those of 20 yearz ago. In all reality, you do get your monies worth by adding 3 new outfits, 4 pairs of shoes, 3 glasses, 2 purses, a cute functional playset to store some outfits for your dolls, and the beautifully divinely exclusive Dana doll to your collection. I might be skipping a couple of dolls for a while, but I think my Dana is SO worth it 🥹.

What I Love About WIMC Dana:
Her Eye Color: A beautiful purple💜Yes, we all need a little, purple-eyed Dana in our lives
Her Eye Make Up: Need I explain? The silvery-white totally compliments the purple and pink of her eyes and lips!
Her Lip Color: A dark, sparkly pink that goes well with her outfits
Her Accessories: She comes with silver hoop earrings and a silver choker necklace that are actually so cute. I'm used to accessories looking cheap-y, or distracting from the beauty of the doll but these really seem to add something!
Her Outfits: High-quality outfits that I'm sooo happy I now have in my collection. I love the embroidery on the pink skirt. The rose dress is well made, even if I don't like it. and I totally needed a cute tweed jacket😩
The Play Closet: This play closet is also high-quality, and sturdy as well. I really love the mini poster on the side of it 🥰
What I Don't Love About WIMC Dana:
Her Hair: I'm getting sick of the heavily gelled blunt bang. The gel makes her hair look so shiny it almost looks greasy. The problem is that I get nervous washing out any bangs with gel because then they start looking wonky. I made sure when I washed WIMC Dana that I didn't touch her bangs!
Her Dress: It's not terrible, I'm just not a fan.
Her Black Sunglasses: They are so tiny. I get the look they were going for with it, but they just look a little cheap is all.
The Play Closet's Shoe Holes: Maybe I'm missing something, but why are the shoe holes so far away from each other?

WIMC Dana was such a nice change from the regular play line Bratz dolls that MGA has been releasing recently. Although a lot of people complained about her hair, I truly don't think it's that bad. Her screening most definitely makes up for the overuse of gel and Jade-esque hairstyle. At the end of the day, she has TOTALLY won me over, and I don't regret buying her, not even a little bit! Don't miss out 💜
